Christ Church invites applications for a fixed-term Stipendiary Lecturership in Physics, there are two positions available. 

This is a temporary, fixed-term position to fulfil a current teaching need primarily arising from Professor Wilkinson's sabbatical leave for the Academic Year 2024/25, therefore, the appointment carries with it no expectation of permanent employment at Christ Church.

The successful candidate will deliver six hours of tutorial teaching per week, averaged over the three eight-week terms of the academic year. We are seeking to make two appointments, who between them will teach 1st year (Prelims) Physics Papers CP1 and CP2, which encompass Classical Mechanics, Special Relativity, Electromagnetism, Circuit Theory and Optics; 2nd year Physics Papers A2 (Electromagnetism and Optics) and A3 (Quantum Physics) and some parts of A1 (Kinetic Theory); 3rd year Physics Papers B6 (Condensed Matter Physics). The lecturer will also be expected to coordinate, set and mark College termly exams (Collections), monitor student progress, and writing termly reports on students.

Vacancy details

Salary £15,244 - £16,983 (current rates) per annum, according to qualifications and experience. 

One year fixed term until 30 September 2025.
