More about the course

Oxford is a highly respected and internationally recognised centre for biomedical research and our tutorial system will allow you to explore chosen subjects in depth.

Why Christ Church? One reason is that the biomedical sciences are strongly represented here. The College Tutors run research laboratories in areas spanning neuroscience, cardiovascular and regenerative science, physiology, pharmacology and biochemistry, and they also investigate disorders involving neurodegeneration, cardiac disease, and addiction. Additional Research Fellows here are experts in molecular genetics, in viral infection and immunity including for HIV, and vaccinology. Oxford’s first anatomy laboratory was in Christ Church (the original dissecting room is still in use – for lunch) and the Regius Professor of Clinical Medicine is a member of the College.
