Coming to university is a big step in your life. You might be away from home for the first time and there may be times you feel overwhelmed. That's normal and we have plenty of resources to help you get the advice and support you need.
If you're a current student and require welfare support, please view the welfare support Intranet page.
Meet the welfare team
Adrian Childs, Welfare Manager
Adrian coordinates the welfare team and is available to all members of the college to discuss any matter in confidence, whether personal or academic. You can make an appointment by email: welfare@chch.ox.ac.uk.
Simon Dadson, Junior Censor
Simon has oversight of college welfare and in particular deals with routine matters such as permission to be absent as well as non-academic discipline. He can be contacted on junior.censor@chch.ox.ac.uk.
Helen Etty/Lucinda Rumsey (job share), Academic Registrar
Helen is the Academic Registrar (in 2024/25 this is a job share with Lucinda Rumsey) and is the College's Disability Coordinator. Her team can help with concerns arising from exams, academic work, suspension of studies, finances, and more. Contact academic.office@chch.ox.ac.uk
Wanderley Santos, College Counsellor
Our College Counsellor is Wanderley Santos, who works for the University Counselling Service and is based with us every Tuesday. You can book at appointment to see him via counsellor@chch.ox.ac.uk.
You can also see another counsellor by emailing counselling@admin.ox.ac.uk. There are further details in the Welfare SOS section of the welfare Intranet page.
The Christ Church wardens
Our wardens Declan, Luke and Sanskriti are graduate students who live on site and are available for out-of-hours support. They can be contacted via the Lodge (01865 276150) or via email at wardens@chch.ox.ac.uk.
Oxford University Counselling Service
The University Counselling Service offers support to every Oxford student. For appointments and enquiries, email them at counselling@admin.ox.ac.uk.
There's also a new wellbeing hub – an online gateway that makes it easier for all students to find and access wellbeing and support services.
