Palm Sunday Procession and Choral Eucharist
On Palm Sunday, we recall Jesus' triumphal entry into Jerusalem with our own procession, singing hymns and led by a donkey.
We will meet at the slightly earlier-than-usual time of 10.45 in the Memorial Garden (at the gate to Christ Church Meadow from St Aldates), where palm crosses will be given out and blessed before we process down St Aldates and into the Cathedral together.
Palm Sunday is also known as Passion Sunday, and in the Liturgy of the Word following the procession we hear the story of the week to come in the form of a sung Passion Gospel. The Revd Dr Zachary Guiliano, our Priest Vicar, will also give the first of his series of interlinked Holy Week sermons and addresses at this service.
We hope you can join us as we begin our journey through Holy Week with a Christian tradition dating back 1600 years.
