Dr Sam Thompson

I completed my MChem at Exeter College Oxford (2004) and my PhD at St Edmund's College, Cambridge (2008). I then became a Junior Research Fellow in Chemistry at Pembroke College and Lady Margaret Hall, Oxford (2009–16). I served as a Senior Research Fellow with Professor Andrew D Hamilton FRS at the Oxford Department of Chemistry from 2010 to 2016. Since 2013 I have been a Lecturer in Organic Chemistry at Christ Church, and from 2016 to 2023 I was a Lecturer in Chemical Biology and Medicinal Chemistry at the University of Southampton. 

I teach Organic Chemistry.

I research chemistry for biology and medicine.
