Academic Background
I studied Classics at Oxford, then an MA in Greek and Indo-European linguistics at Cologne. I returned to Oxford for a DPhil in Linguistics, working on the language of Menander of Athens and the origin of the Koiné. After working at St John’s College, Oxford as a lecturer, I was Leverhulme Early Career Fellow at Liverpool before returning to my current post at Christ Church.
Undergraduate Teaching
Greek and Latin language and literature, comparative philology.
Research Interests
Greek comedy, especially post-classical comedy; Greek and Roman Imperial literature, especially Athenaeus.
