Qualifications

MPhys (University of Durham, 2012); DPhil (University of Oxford, 2017)

Academic background

After completing my PhD at Pembroke College, Oxford in 2017 I held the Ogden Trust Sixty Symbols Fellowship at the University of Nottingham for 2 years, before returning to Oxford for a 4 year stint as a Junior Research Fellow at Christ Church. I am now a Royal Astronomical Society Research Fellow at the Department of Physics here at Oxford and remain a member of the SCR at Christ Church.

Research interests

My research is focussed on low-redshift galaxy evolution studies; particularly the mechanisms responsible for the non-merger driven growth of supermassive black holes and their subsequent AGN feedback effects.

Other interests and activities

I am a keen scientific communicator, noted for my astrophysics YouTube channel Dr Becky and for authoring two public science books.
