All tours are in English and suitable for ages 11+. All children under 18 must be accompanied by a paying adult.

If you have any accessibility requirements, please contact us in advance at tourism@chch.ox.ac.uk so that we can make arrangements for you to join the tour. 

Highlights Guided Tours

 

Tickets will be released online each Friday for the following week. For example, on Friday 4 October tickets will be released for the week of Monday 7 October.

Additional tours may be added on an ad-hoc basis. 

Tickets may also be purchased at our Visitor Centre, subject to availability.

Cathedral architecture guided tour

This 60-minute tour offers a journey through centuries of architectural development, from the Norman construction of the Priory of St Frideswide in the 12th century, through the emergence of Gothic architecture, to the remodelling of the Cathedral by Sir George Gilbert Scott in the 19th century.

Cathedral stained glass guided tour

Tickets £24 in advance/£26 on the day

This 60-minute tour offers a journey through the Cathedral's rich stained glass heritage, starting with early 14th century gems such as the 'Becket Window', through a period when 'painted' glass was in fashion in the 17th century, to the Victorians and the exquisite legacy left by the Pre-Raphaelite artist Edward Burne-Jones.

Lantern-Led Festive Guided Tour

Explore Christ Church after dark on a festive-themed guided tour. As your friendly guide leads you by lantern light through the quadrangles, cloisters and Great Hall, you will learn about Christ Church's fascinating history and follow our Christmas tree trail around the College.
